Who are eligible to apply for the B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation Scholarships?

A.

Candidates must be Indian citizens and 2nd Year Post Graduate Students pursuing a degree course from a recognized university in India in the fields of Anaesthesia, Medicine, Cardiology, Nephrology, Orthopedic Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, General Surgery and Gastro Surgery.

How do candidates apply for the B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation Scholarships?

A.

Candidates have to fill up an application form giving details of marks obtained in previous examinations and details of accomplishments in the current postgraduate education and information of any community service performed by them. The Head of the Departments or Deans or Principals of the Medical Colleges must endorse the application forms. The Applications must also mention the name of an individual familiar with the candidate’s academic career, such as a teacher, principal or someone who can attest the candidate’s scholarly abilities as reference.

   
 

Each application form must be accompanied with a Cheque/ Demand Draft in favor of the B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation, payable in Mumbai of a nominal amount of Rs. 100/- (Rupees One Hundred Only). This would be non-refundable and is to ensure that only candidates confident of their credentials apply for the Scholarships.

How and when are the candidates selected for the B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation Scholarships?

A.

The Executive Committee Members will review and evaluate all applications received by the 31st July, 2007 deadline. The short listed candidates advancing from the preliminary application review are then evaluated by the Advisory Committee Members to decide on the final list of beneficiaries. The selected candidates will be announced individually by the end of August and the scholarship grants will commence from the month of September.

What is the amount of Scholarship received by the selected candidates and how does the candidate receive the Scholarship amount?

A.

The selected candidates receive a total scholarship amount of INR 24,000 disbursed over a period of 12 months from June to May. The Cheque/ Demand Drafts will be in favor of the selected candidate and sent to the correspondence address of the Candidate or deposited in the candidates’ bank account.

Is there anything the selected candidates have to do for the B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation or B. Braun in return for receiving the Scholarships after completing the Post Graduation Course?

A.

The B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation has been instituted only to provide scholarships to post graduate students in the field of medical sciences thereby recognizing the merit & talent of upcoming medical professionals in the country and encouraging excellence in medical education to attain their fullest potential. There is no expectation of any form of return by the B. Braun Medical Trust Foundation or by B. Braun from the selected beneficiaries.
